Commune Hotels & Resorts is an international, multi-brand lifestyle hotel management company which manages and operates Thompson, Joie de Vivre and Tommie brand Hotels across US, Canada, Europe and Mexico.

Business Systems Overview:

Commune was operating on siloed databases for each of the properties on a very old ERP system (accpac) and in some cases, had varied systems like SpaSoft, home grown reporting / BI system and Excel based budgeting models and manual processes.

Solution Overview:

Oracle ERP Financials Cloud and Planning and Budgeting Cloud (PBCS) were implemented to bring all properties into a global single instance – This resolved reconciliation and timing issues for intercompany entries, eliminated duplicate data entry, provided single source of truth in addition to seamless regular integration between ERP and PBCS systems for near-real-time reporting of actuals vs budgets.

Integration between POS systems like Micros, Opera to Oracle GL, Bank intergration, currency exchange rate integration were built to eliminate manual processes and system handshake as much as possible.
